Established in the 1970s by Verdi’s father, Guiseppe Verdi, the company has grown over the years. Colour has always been at the heart of the brand, and Verdi enjoys combining different gemstones and colours in unusual ways. Among the best sellers in his pieces is a rose gold dome ring with a large carved turquoise as the centre piece, complemented by two deep blue sapphire cabochons, onyx inlays, and pavé diamonds. “Clients associate Verdi jewellery with colours, and they expect unusual colour combinations in their jewels,” shares Verdi.

Case in point: the set of elegant, colourful bracelets with red corals contrasted by various gemstones in different shades and colours. The colours are combined in a painterly manner by the soft palette of rose gold, Verdi’s preferred metal for its “refinement and soft appearance.”

Verdi explains that a typical piece goes through a long journey from the initial sketch to the final product. “The design team produces sketches for a range of collections. We then approve the sketches to be worked into final designs with technical specifications, which are then presented to our goldsmiths who create the finished pieces,” shares Verdi. “We use the latest computer techniques to create the first samples, but all pieces are hand-made at our workshop in Valenza.”
Most often, the company hunts for the perfect gemstones to fit the design. Other times, especially for one-of- a-kind pieces, the jewel is created around the gemstone.
