Dutch designer and entrepreneur Daan Roosegaade might have found a solution to one of the world’s main concerns — air pollution.
Creating one of the largest air purifier, a Smog Free Tower, it features a seven-metre high tower that uses just 1,400 watts of electricity per hour to clear approximately 30,000 cubic metres of air — almost equivalent to the electricity consumption of an electric kettle. A highlight of this new technology is when the smog is captured, it will then be compressed and sealed in a resin cube, producing onyx-like jewellery.
The Smog Free Tower is scheduled for trial in Beijing, China at the start of this coming September and have been producing accessories such as rings and cufflinks as byproducts.
