BASELWORLD 2016: Patek Philippe’s Novelties

From complicated mechanical timepieces to classic and modern designs, the luxury Genevan Haute Horlogerie brand have outperformed and outdone all expectations in the watchmaking world. A league on its own, Patek Philippe is back at BaselWorld to impress. 

Here are this year’s novelties:

World Time Chronograph Ref. 5930
This timepiece is a combination of the Genevan manufacture’s patented World Time mechanism with a self-winding chronograph movement. It features a round white-gold case with a manually-guilloched blue dial.

Annual Calendar Ref. 5396R
The brand celebrates the 20th anniversary of the patented Annual Calendar. The Annual Calendar Ref. 5035  was voted as Watch of the Year in Basel in 1996. This timepiece marks model number 22.

Calatrava Timeless White Ref. 7122 – Ladies’ Collection
Bright white lacquered and polished dial with sparkling diamonds, perfect for ladies who prefer a simple and classy timepiece. 

World Time Ref. 5230
This new World Time watch features a new time-zone scale, a 24h ring with day/night indication in colour and sun/moon symbols. Day is indicated with black numerals on silvery background while night is with white numerals on black background. Ref. 5230 comes in 18k white or 5N rose gold case with sapphire-crystal case back and is water resistant up to 30m.

Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300
The Ref. 6300 features 20 complications including five strikework functions (Grande and Petite sonnerie, minute repeater, alarm with time strike, date repeater). Distinguishing itself from the Ref. 5175, the 37mm diameter watch has a hand-guilloched 18k white-gold case finished with an alligator leather strap.
