Two months since the official launch of The Bespoke Club, things are a-stirring at the cutting table and in the Personal Shopping Suite of Singapore’s latest fine tailoring home. Tradition and heritage are integrally woven into the fabric of Savile Row suiting, but select houses like The Bespoke Club are deftly unpicking the seams and re-working the template.
The brand is blending dignified refinement with youthful nous — rich prints, contemporary silhouettes and covetable accessories. In store, one will also find a range of curated goods like Pasotti shoehorns and high-end grooming products that chime with The Bespoke Club’s ethos.
The feather in the brand’s cap is its bespoke offering that pledges to combine attentive service, quality workmanship and fast delivery of approximately three weeks. In other words, a bridge between having an entirely bespoke suit crafted for you and the ease of ready-to-wear. The more affordable price points and speed at which the garments are made may raise eyebrows amongst diehard traditionalists. Yet, The Bespoke Club’s contemporary concept allows a new generation of men and women who appreciate the finer points of suiting to own well-made tailored suits and shirts that reflect one’s needs, tastes and personality.
As a testament to the boutique’s Savile Row standards, the manual work put in to create a bespoke garment — some 50 hours in total — like rolling the lapel, felling the collar, setting the canvas and sewing the buttons, are all done by hand in-house; just as they do on the storied street. In addition, there is the aforementioned Personal Shopping Suite that ensures discretion for customers — or “club patrons”, in the brand’s words.
Besides browsing over 5,000 premium fabrics from famous European mills like Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry and Vitale Barberis Canonico, patrons can have their measurements taken and add customised details to their clothes in private. The Bespoke Club also gives patrons the option to bring their personalised tailoring services to one’s home or office in Singapore or across the region. “Shopping in comfort and luxury with all the trappings of a Savile Row boutique are the hallmarks of The Bespoke Club making visits to drab tailors a thing of the past”, says the brand. “The experience [at the boutique] is a curated journey where the key focus is on ‘Accessible Luxury’ for those who desire perfect quality and service”.
