Stars and precious jewels have always had an exciting and enduring relationship. From the movies to the red carpet, celebrities are always seen wearing fine jewellery usually designed by somebody else. This, however, is a different collaboration. Chopard, the Swiss luxury jewellery and watch maison, recently unveiled a jewellery line designed jointly with the international pop superstar Rihanna.

Called RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD, the nine-piece capsule collection captures the unique vision and spirit of the American style icon, who is known for her bold and modern fashion choices. “I have always been in love with Chopard’s exquisite jewellery, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can’t believe,” says Rihanna. “It was a really incredible process and I learned so much! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Working closely with Chopard Co-President and Creative Director, Caroline Scheufele, the duo crafted an ensemble of necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelet that blended urban chic with classic glamour. “Rihanna and I collaborated closely on this collection so you can feel her unstoppable energy, strong creativity, and inherent sense of design in every piece,” says Scheufele. “With her unique style, she redefines the way people see and wear jewellery.”

The limited-edition pieces are defined by minimalist geometry and sharp, clean lines. The pop star’s insouciant, effortless grace shines through, infused with a quiet strength. Chopard’s classic Ice Cube is the leitmotif in the collection, given new life by the introduction of ceramic blocks in a colour personally selected by Rihanna — Jungle Green. The earrings exemplify this aesthetic with two hollow rectangles, one in rose gold, and the other in green ceramic. All the gold elements in the collection are crafted from 18K certified Fairmined rose gold, whose frosty allure accentuates the purity of line of the pieces. Likewise, the rings in 18K rose gold delicately balance a thin crossbar on the finger and come in two variants, one of which is set with diamonds. Also in the collection are sautoir necklaces in which linked rectangles of 18K rose gold and green ceramic are suspended symmetrically on the wearer’s upper chest, the thin chain looping like a shimmering thread on the skin.

Raising the already extraordinary creative partnership between Rihanna and Chopard up a notch is a second capsule collection. The RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD Haute Joaillerie Collection debuted in May to help commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Festival de Cannes and celebrate Chopard’s 20th year as the official partner of the festival. The collection features vibrant, modern pieces inspired by Rihanna’s island roots — the lush gardens of Barbados and the electricity of Carnival.

Prior to the unveiling, Rihanna had already afforded fans sneak peeks of the collection when she wore a pair of floral-inspired multi-coloured chandelier earrings and a marquise-cut diamond solitaire ring to the recent Grammy Awards. The pop icon also wore flower drop earrings to complement her look at the MET Gala in New York.
