Bigger venue, bridal jewellery sets the tone for this year’s HKJMA
Following the success of the 2016 edition, the 2017 Hong Kong International Jewelry Manufacturers’ Show — which will be held from 30 November to 3 December at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre — is expected to host approximately 900 jewellery exhibitors from all over the world. This is an expected increase from 760 exhibitors from the previous year.
With the trends in fashion and bridal jewellery in full swing, the exhibition is expanding its existing space, from Hall 1 to Hall 3FG, to accommodate more exhibitors and new products zones. What’s more, it is dedicating an entire hall space for a new ‘Bridal Jewellery Gallery’. According to results in a China Jewellery Market overview conducted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), an increased commercial consumption of bridal jewellery in China has driven jewellery sales up to 50 per cent. Visitors can expect a touch and feel of bridal jewellery collections through the ‘Luxury Jewelry Try-On’, which is one of two activities at a garden-decorated gallery. There’s also the ‘Bridal Jewelry Parade’, which will be a platform accessible for customers to review and purchase of bridal jewellery pieces.
For Ji-Eun Kim, Gina, CEO of Korean jewellery brand Gina Kim, the annual jewellery show has proven to be positive for her brand and her customers. “The show’s scale is getting bigger, and it gathers lots of quality buyers from all over the world. It is such a good platform to promote my designs.”
The show will also host new spaces, including a Vintage Jewelry Zone, Silver Jewellery Zone, and a Refurbished Jewelry Zone, among other international pavilions. Jewellers like Dilys, Maskada, Rio Pearl, and Nam Keung Hong will be showcasing their latest designs and fine jewels.
