OPPENHEIMER BLUE
A 14.62ct fancy vivid blue diamond was sold at US$57.5 million making it the world’s most expensive gemstone ever sold at an auction. Named after its previous owner, Sir Philip Oppenheimer of the De Beers family, the Oppenheimer Blue was sold amongst other maginifcent jewels such as H. S. H. Gabriela Princess zu Leiningen’s private collection at Christie’s Geneva.

 

 

 

THE UNIQUE PINK
One of the star pieces of the Magnificent Jewels & Noble Jewels Sotheby’s auction in Geneva last May, The Unique Pink is truly a marvel to look at. At 15.38ct, the fancy vivid pink stone fetched US$28 million at the auction last May. The diamond was cut by Cora International, a company known for producing and cutting rare stones of large sizes and vivid colours.

 

 

 

THE CULLINAN DREAM

Drawn from the Cullinan mine in South Africa, this fancy blue diamond stone features an asymmetrical structure in its rough state. It requires extreme precision when cutting to ensure that the diamond is properly proportioned to keep its high colour saturation and natural brilliance. The 24.18ct blue diamond was sold at US$25.4 million.

AURORA GREEN

Hong Kong-based luxury jewellery company, Chow Tai Fook purchased the 5.03ct Aurora Green diamond ring at a whopping price of US$16.8 milliion. One of the highlights of Christie’s Hong Kong 30th anniversary sale, the fancy vivid green diamond ring is the world’s largest green diamond and is accompanied with circular-cut pink diamonds.
