RING IN THE HOLIDAYS

Singapore jeweller Jessie Foo Yuli on bespoke jewellery gifting

Jewellery is a tricky gift to give, but when done right, it is a great way to celebrate a special occasion. One of the best ways to make sure you do it right is by having a made-to-order piece for your loved one. Thus, you rarely go wrong with a bespoke ring.

We speak with Jessie Foo Yuli, founder and designer of Singapore jewellery brand Yuli Fine Jewellery, for some tips on bespoke jewellery gifting.

1. Christmas is a day to celebrate with your loved ones, and what better way to cap the occasion than with a memorable gift. A lovely, personalised ring, for example, is a foolproof way to show someone she is special. Make sure that you know her size to avoid the hassle of resizing it. If not, you can always borrow one of her old rings and bring it to the jeweller for sizing.

2. Jewellery is forever. It is a well-loved, everlasting object that has its own interesting story to tell. Make your gift as interesting by personalising it. Be it with a romantic engraving or a special centre stone, having a ring tailored according to your own love story or your loved one’s personality makes the gift extra special.

3. Creating a bespoke piece of jewellery for your loved one can be a fun and unique experience for you. Closely observe how she likes her rings, which finger she wears it on — as left fingers are usually smaller than the right, and the styles of rings that she prefers.
