THE DAILY GLOW FOUNDERS ON INTEGRATING WELLNESS INTO EVERY ASPECT OF DAILY LIFE

The three co-founders of The Daily Glow share about their new social and wellness platform, which aims to connect people with products, services and experiences that help them live a healthier, more balanced life.

The Daily Glow was founded by Marilyn Lum, Kelly Kim and Wendy Long in September 2024. The three friends were driven to help people integrate wellness into every aspect of their daily life and create a community that values a healthy and joyful lifestyle. The trio describe The Daily Glow as the wellness equivalent of Facebook. Their platform is focused on serving people who are keen to enhance their wellbeing through wellness and lifestyle experiences.

The Daily Glow partners with a variety of individuals and businesses who have been specially selected for their alignment with wellness principles. These include local artisans, instructors and brands with compelling stories and who uphold ethical values. In time, Marilyn, Kelly and Wendy plan to expand this concept to include international partners. Here, the co-founders talk about their new business and share their secrets for staying healthy and well.

Tell us what makes The Daily Glow so special?

Wendy: The Daily Glow is a natural progression from what Kelly, Marilyn and I were already doing individually: connecting people and businesses and bringing together like-minded wellness enthusiasts. The idea was to connect more people with wellness businesses through products and experiences.

What do you hope to achieve with The Daily Glow?

Marilyn: We look forward to creating an extensive wellness and lifestyle e-commerce platform, featuring a network of brands for people to enjoy.

Kelly: Another aim is to redefine wellness as holistic; a concept that integrates physical health, mental clarity, and a deep appreciation for everyday experiences. By incorporating elements that bring enjoyment and positivity into daily life, we aspire to create a way of living that is not only uplifting and fulfilling but also balanced and well-rounded.

Wendy: Through The Daily Glow, we’d like people to understand that wellness is about doing things that make them feel good.

What’s on the cards for The Daily Glow in 2025?

Marilyn: We plan to roll out more collaborations with existing and future partners and launch our exclusive product range on our website in the first quarter. Mathilde (bespoke leather bag artisans), Balinese jewellery and watch brand Candri Bali, Artifactt (curated tableware and homeware) and CHUPACHUPCHAR (entrepreneur), are just a few brands we’ll be partnering with in early 2025.

Why do you think wellness is so important these days?

Kelly: People aren’t just looking for ways to be healthy; they’re also seeking purpose, joy, and connection. This is why we want to help them take a more holistic approach to their wellbeing. We want to empower people to thrive, not merely survive.

Wendy: More people are open with talking about their lives, and through that, we’ve come to see how a low wellness quotient can negatively affect one’s mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. We’re also seeing a rise in the number of health issues, mostly due to poor lifestyle choices. It’s therefore more important than ever to highlight the necessity of wellness enhancement and engagement.

What’s your own wellness journey like?

Marilyn: I enjoy yoga and meditation. Every morning, I do pranayama deep breathing exercises to calm my mind and help me start my day on a positive note.

Kelly: I prioritise daily practices that help to detoxify my system and minimise  my risk of health problems down the road. These include drinking green juice, getting adequate sleep, and receiving lymphatic massages.

Wendy: I always start my day with exercise. I have private Pilates classes four times a week, private gyro-tonic classes twice a week, and personal training sessions twice a week. Every day, I also do at least one hour of high-intensity cardio.

Can you tell us about your favourite wellness retreats or most memorable wellness experiences?

Marilyn: I did a yoga retreat in Da Nang, Vietnam, a few years ago. It was a great opportunity for personal reflection and to nourish my body and mind.

Kelly: Watching the sun rise while engaging in dynamic exercise, soaking in a hot tub outdoors during winter, enjoying wine or tea with friends under a starry sky and sharing meaningful connections – these are just a few experiences that make me feel good.

Wendy: I have yet to embark on a wellness retreat but I already know which one I’d like to sign up for. La Reserve Ramatuelle in the south of France offers a series of detox and wellness programmes from late April to early October. The programmes can be customised according to the client’s needs and preferences. It’s on my list of places to go and things to do.
