TIFFANY’S BLUE OCEANS

From the depths of the ocean to the shores of the seas, design director Francesca Amfitheatrof continues her exploration of nature in her second Tiffany Blue Book collection, The Art of Transformation.

While last year’s collection was inspired by the vivid forces of the seas — think crashing waves as depicted in pairs of earrings in sapphires and diamonds — Amfitheatrof now takes on an almost retrospective approach to her designs.

Although marine life is still evident in the themes, this time around the oceans have calmed down, and what’s left are the gentle ebbs of the seas, rocking the collection to an incomparable delicate elegance.

“It’s a story about evolution and all that is possible in silence and peace, where nature plays its magic and creates the mysteries of the world we live in,” shared Amfitheatrof.

The annual Blue Book Collection has been at the heart of Tiffany’s design legacies since it was first published in 1845, showcasing the brand’s latest collections. The book also paved for distinguishing the signature Tiffany Blue colour and the famous Tiffany Blue Box as an icon of true style that we know today.

Amfitheatrof’s second collection for this over 170-year-old legacy pushes the limits of creativity, challenging the imagination, and evoking both the spectacular stillness and motion in nature.

A pair of fish playfully leaping from the ocean is immortalised in whimsical earrings — their scales brilliantly captured by diamonds and cuprian elbaite tourmalines, the tails and fins gleam in platinum, while the blue of the sea dazzles in 13ct cushion-cut tanzanites. In a stunning matching cuff and earrings, perfect round diamonds in a range of yellow colours sprinkled with white diamonds evoke the warmth and radiance of the sunlight.

As a designer, I am constantly exploring the natural world — the source of all beauty and artistic inspiration,” added Amfitheatrof.

Not only that, she makes sure that she utilises only the finest of diamonds. The collection also dazzles with an ever-present element — precious gemstones in fascinating hues, such as tanzanites, tourmalines, aquamarines, and sapphires.
