Energy addicts — a term we could identify ourselves in this day and age, according to Naomi Kizhner. A final project by the then, Israeli graduate student, that introduces a bizarre jewellery concept design, titled Energy Addicts. Its objective is to generate an all-natural electricity produced by our body. The concept included three jewellery pieces — Blinker, Blood Bridge and Pulse Conductor.
These pieces were designed to be plugged into the wearer’s veins to cultivate power and energy, using invasive gold and biopolymer devices to pierce into the surface of the skin. It would then utilise the wearer’s movements, such as blinks and blood flow, to trigger the wheels in the jewellery to turn and subsequently, generate electricity.
The concept is inspired by the significant decline of resources and the need to search for substitutes to cultivate power. Energy Addicts was Kizhner’s suggested solution and “[was] based on the idea of biological wealth, harvesting energy directly from the body.” www.naomikizhner.com
